What's this all about?
For almost four decades, the Jasper Journal and the South Pittsburg Hustler have served as THE platform for what's best In the Sequatchie Valley. When the papers combined in 2018 and formed the Marion County News, we continued this customer survey every year!
Who Voted? Where'd they vote?
As has been the standard, the ballot with the categories runs in our print edition for two weeks which readers are encouraged to fill in their favorite categories and either mail in or bring their hard copy ballot to our office. As we've integrated for the past few years, we also have an online companion ballot listing the same categories and options in digital format. Care is taken to the best of our ability to avoid ballot stuffing. We even have digital safeguards in place to trigger review if a single IP has an abnormal number of submissions. Oftentimes, those audits prove to be a public internet, such as a library or a school.
